Padding This is the most frequently used packaging; it is inexpensive and light, so easy to handle. We use three or four layers of padding to give your works maximum protection. The first layer comprises glazing tape and is used specifically for works framed under glass. The second layer (or the first one if the work is not under glass) is made from a chemically neutral material and protects the work from scratches and acid or abrasive elements. This material is selected according to the type of work: painting or sculpture, drawing, photograph, pastel or charcoal, for example. The third layer is a supple protective inter-layer that reduces vibrations and variations in humidity and temperature. The final layer is rigid, providing greater shock resistance and easier grip.
Crates For a very fragile item or for a long and complex journey, a crate is required. All our crates are ISPM15 (International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures no. 15) certified, so are permitted for international transport. Depending on the type of work to be transported, our specialists will provide you with the most secure solution: slide crates, standard museum crates, sculpture crates, slide-top crates, chests, etc. Our crates are made to measure. The foam padding and type of packaging are adapted to each work; depending on how fragile and how old it is and where it is going, we can add insulating compartments made from extruded polystyrene. All our crates are equipped with seals, but for even greater security and protection we can add a Valsem-based film layer inside the crate.
